I painted this portrait of India Arie after I heard her song "I Choose" India has always been an inspiration to me. Her energy is positive and intelligent. She is a strong and spiritual woman who is grounded to her ancestors both in family and music. That is why I have her energy grounded to the bottom of the painting.
